Seeing, interacting with, and admiring the Giant Tortoises is easily one of the most magical things to do in Seychelles. The tortoises are super personable and seeing them in real life is an unexplainable experience.
They weigh up to 900 lbs and are 100+ years old! These friendly giants are endemic to Seychelles and can be found on various different islands. However, the best place to find them is on Curieuse Island.
There are hundreds of Giant Tortoises on Curieuse Island roaming freely all around. In the late 1970s giant tortoises were relocated to Curieuse Island as part of a conservation project and they have thrived here since that date.

Scuba diving and snorkeling are amongst some of the most popular things to do in Seychelles for those water and under-the-sea lovers.
The unique underwater life, clear blue waters, and safe swimming conditions make it one of the best places in the world for this. Sadly, all the coral has been dead and bleached since 2014 due to global climate change so you won’t see any colorful coral reefs during your dive.
You can bring your own gear and snorkel on your own from one of the many beaches or join a tour. There are a ton of boat tours that will take you to unique coves and diving spots that are unreachable without a guide. This is the best way to go snorkeling or diving as you can enjoy a more unique experience.

The best time to visit Seychelles is in October and November. This is when the weather is the most moderate (28°C) and the least amount of rain. You can visit all year round but since it is located below the equator you will see there is a dry season and a wet season. The wet season is from December to March so during this time, you will see much more rain.
