My name is Sam and welcome to my world

I am full-time traveler, digital nomad, photographer, and content creator.
I am the creative force behind Sam Sees World, my travel website/brand dedicated to capturing beauty and charm while on a global journey. I share my life and experiences on my Instagram and TikTok for inspiration and go more in-depth here on my website for information.
In October 2022 after living in Amsterdam for 7 years I decided to get rid of my apartment to embrace a life of full-time travel. But let me clarify, Iโm not your typical adventure traveler scaling mountains or bungee jumping off cliffs; I consider myself an aesthetic traveler with an insatiable appetite for beauty and culture.
My mission is simple yet profound: I seek to immerse myself in the beautiful and the unfamiliar, documenting every step of the way. Through captivating visuals and engaging narratives, I aim to ignite wanderlust in you by inviting you to experience the world through my lens.

My love for travel began in 2017 when I moved from Canada to Amsterdam for a 6-month study abroad program. I not only fell in love with travel and new experiences, but I also fell in love with my now husband! One month into my exchange I met a Swiss guy who was also studying abroad and well, the rest is history.
We now travel full-time together โ with him being the genius behind the camera โ and me as the writer who pieces all the fragmented photos into a story you can understand.
Where Iโve Lived/Traveled
To date, Iโve lived and traveled to quite a few places around the world. Some for a week and some for months been years! Below are the places I know and love most. I donโt write about all of them if I feel I donโt have enough information/knowledge on the place.
Netherlands โ My home away from home and the place I know best. I spent the last 5 years living in Amsterdam and love everything about it. Amsterdam is where my expertise lies, but I have visited quite a few other places in the Netherlands too!
Montenegro โ Where I spend months every summer and a special place in my heart.
Australia โ Who doesnโt LOVE Australia? One of my top 3 favorite countries that I have spent a good amount of time in. I am heading back soon for even more explorations!
Maldives: A local experience where I spent my vacation enjoying a (less) luxurious but even more beautiful stay in this amazing country on the local islands like Thulusdhoo, Maafushi and more.
Portugal โ Porto, Lisbon, Lagos, Albufeira and more!
Spain โ Madrid, Ibiza, Malaga, Valencia.
England โ London.
Greece โ Always ranking top 1 or 2 when thinking of my favorite countries, Greece is a country I find myself in year after year. Chania, Mykonos, Milos, Santorini, Corfu and more!
Canada โ My home country that is dear to my heart but I havenโt done too much traveling here.
Switzerland โ Luckily Iโve gotten to spend a lot of time in Switzerland. Having a Swiss husband makes travel in Switzerland easy and (thankfully) less expensive! Iโve traveled and seen all regions and many towns and villages. Some of the top places: Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, Ticino, Locarno, Lugano, Lucerne, Zurich,
Italy โ One of my favorite countries that Iโve spent countless months in! Matera, Alberobello, Polignano a Mare, Monopoli, Lake Como, Tuscany, Florence, Rome, Amalfi, Positano, and more!
France โ North, South, Central and more. I love France and its diversity, but I would have to say my favorite places are the South of France and Corsica. Some favourites include: Annecy, Paris, Eze, Menton, & others!
USA โ My old neighbor that I donโt visit that often, but have a soft spot for NYC.
Croatia โ The ultimate Mediterranean hot spot that I visit sometimes during my summers in Montenegro.
Albania โ Visited the Alabania Riveria for a quick yet amazing visit.
Finland โ Helsinki.
Estonia โ Tallinn.
Monaco โ A welcome day trip in a land of luxury.
Japan โSeriously one of the most amazing places Iโve been. Mount Fuji, Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo!
South Korea โ Seoul.
Vietnam โ I definitely have some mixed feelings about Vietnam. Loved some places and others were not me at all!
Thailand โ I thought Thailand would be super touristy and overrun but was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and well-maintained it was. Koh Pih Phi, Phuket, Ao Nang, Koh Samui.
New Zealand โ A short 1-week visit that I needed longer, I will be back!
Malaysia โ Kuala Lumpur.
Jordan โ Amman, Wadi Rum, Petra, Dead Sea.
Oman โ Such a hidden gem.
UAE โ Dubai.
The Seychelles โ One of the most beautiful places Iโve been with the most amazing beaches in the world.
Denmark โ Copenhagen.
Luxembourg โ Luxembourg City.
Austria โ Vienna.
Vatican City โ The smallest country in the world
Poland โ Gdansk.
Hungary โ Budapest.
Serbia โ Belgrade.
Indonesia โ Bali, Lombok, Gili Islands.
Singapore โ One of my favorite big cities that is clean, safe and super futuristic.
Iceland โ Like another planet.
Bosnia & Herzegovina โ Low prices, understated and unlike what you imagine.
Czechia โ Prague.
Sweden โ Stockholm.
