15 Best Things to Do in Corfu, Greece

Admire the Stunning Cape Drastis

Beautiful view of Cape Drastis in the island of Corfu in Greece

Cape Drastis is one of the most picturesque places to visit in Corfu. Heading up to this northern point is easily one of the best things to do in Corfu. Cape Drastis is great to visit at sunrise, during the day, and at sunset as a place to look out over the clear blue water and white-washed cliffs.

As one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in Greece, Cape Drastis is one of the top places to head to, even though reaching it takes some effort.

Getting here is only really possible by renting a car, scooter, or quad. Once there you can only reach the beach by water taxi. Despite the effort, the view is stunning and something you will not regret seeing!

Visit Canal D’Amour

Canal D'Amour panorama in Sidari, Corfu island, Greece. Turquoise water.

Canal d’Amour is a stunning and unique blue water canal and beach located on the North coast of Corfu in Sidari. This is one of the more touristy areas in Corfu due to its many beaches, but Canal d’Amour is one of the best due to its stunning natural landscape formation.

You can walk the rocks, take photos and even swim! An extra bonus of coming here is that legend says when two people swim here they will fall in love OR get engaged soon. Maybe this is why Corfu is one of the most romantic places in Greece!

Tip: there are two lovers’ canals in this area right beside each other. The more popular and famous one has a path and signs leading to it, and the second is just beside it behind a hotel. It is best to go to both as they are both stunning!

IMPORTANT: The first time I visited here was in the “wavy” season (late August / early September) and the water was very rough and dark during this time! There was no way you were swimming there at this time.

Shopping for Local Souvenirs

In Corfu Town and all around the island there is stand upon stand of souvenirs. In most countries the souvenirs feel cheap and overdone, however, this is not the case in Corfu. All the most popular souvenirs are super unique and local and are well worth a look at and purchase.

Some of the most popular souvenirs you will find in Corfu are household items made from olive tree wood, olive oil soap, clothing, and more.

Picking up a spoon made of oil tree wood will cost you around 10 euros and is a well-worth thing to bring home to remember your adventures. Looking at all the local goodies is one of the top things to do in Corfu that is incredibly underrated.

Rent Your Own Boat in Paleokastritsa

Heading to Paleokastritsa for a day trip is one of the best things to do in Corfu for many reasons. The town itself is super cute and charming, plus the surrounding beaches are stunning! One of the best things to do while here is rent a boat on your own to cruise all around the surrounding area and see the island from a whole new perspective.

In Greece, you can rent a boat without a boating license if the motor is under 30 hp which almost all boat rental companies offer. This is still pretty fast – so no need to worry about being too slow. If you are not comfortable driving yourself you can also hire a skipper to drive you around.

The boat company I rented from was called Triton Marine Tours, which is a small local company that offers small boats that fit about 4 people. Prices vary depending on the season and if you hire a skipper or not – I went at the beginning of the off-season and didn’t use a skipper and paid 120 euros for 6 hours.

Although you can’t go super far and drive around all of Corfu (it’s just too big) you can see a lot of things you wouldn’t be able to see without a boat such as the very famous Paradise Beach.

I think Corfu town is the best place to stay in Corfu for first-time visitors!

Porto Timoni in Corfu, Greece

Porto Timoni is one of the most beautiful beaches in Corfu and a must-visit while touring the island. It is a beyond scenic beach located on the west side of the island and although it is quite a journey to get it, it is worth it! This stony beach is located in a bay surrounded by lush greenery and bright blue waters.

Getting here requires a 20-minute hike that is on a pretty steep and rocky slope – but you can also get a water taxi which is a good idea if you want to skip this and the view from the top. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes!
