14 Best Things to Do in Mallorca, Spain

Everything you need for your trip to Mallorca

🚗 You MUST rent a car when visiting Mallorca. This is the only way to see and do as much as possible. I rented my car with – I visited in April and my car cost around 100 euros for 5 days!

🏡 Where you stay in Mallorca makes all the difference in your experience. I HIGHLY recommend staying in a countryside hotel (agrotourism). I LOVED this type of stay and it really added to my visit. Here are three amazing options highly recommended by me!

➡️ La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel, Mallorca
➡️ Hotel Rural Es Riquers
➡️ Zoetry Mallorca Wellness & Spa

Explore the Village of Valldemossa

Valldemossa is a beautiful hilltop village and visiting is one of the top things to do in Mallorca. Famous for its cobblestone streets, stone houses, and stunning surrounding mountains, Valldemossa offers a relaxing escape from the busier tourist areas on the island.

💡 When talking with locals I was told that Valldemossa is most of their favourite places to visit. Other towns and villages have gotten super busy in recent years yet Valldemossa remains a more calm and local gem.

One thing you need to keep in mind when visiting Valldemossa, and everywhere in Mallorca, is parking! I do recommend renting a car when visiting Mallorca and if you do you will find parking is hard to come by.

In Valldemossa, there is one main parking lot which fills up quickly. Parking costs 3 euros for 120 minutes and can be found here.

💡 If you are worried about parking or don’t want to rent a car then I suggest taking a tour of Valldemossa and other nearby villages.
This Valldemossa & Soller Tour is a GREAT option!

Spend a Day at Cala Llombards

Cala Llombards is one of Mallorca’s most famous beaches located on the southeastern coast of Mallorca. It is the exact beach you imagine when you think of Mallorca.

💡 This is honestly one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. The water is incredibly blue and the little boat houses are the perfect extra touch.

Cala Llombards does get pretty busy in the high season and there is limited parking – but there is a parking lot RIGHT in front of the beach. I suggest arriving early to secure a spot and spending some time relaxing on this beauty!

Explore Sóller

Sóller is a charming town known for its picturesque landscapes and vibrant culture. It is one of the most popular towns to visit in Mallorca due to its location within the mountains and its famous tram!

One thing about Sóller is that it is BUSY! With this in mind, parking can get pretty intense. I suggest taking a tour from Palma to Sóller – LIKE THIS ONE- and back to avoid this traffic and simply enjoy the day and some of its highlights.

This Valldemossa & Soller Tour is a GREAT option!

Beach Hop From S’Almonia to Cala del Moro

S’Almonia and Cala del Moro are two of Mallorca’s most beautiful beaches located just 3 minutes from one another. They are the perfect two beaches to add to your list of top things to do in Mallorca to see and experience the magic of the island’s beaches.

Start at S’Almonia, famous for its rocky coastline, blue waters, and little fishing huts. From there, follow the coastal trail to Cala del Moro, a cove surrounded by steep cliffs and turquoise waters.

💡 These two beaches are stunning and there is a ton of space to layout and swim – S’Almonia is also a place famous for cliff jumping! Just note the parking situation is limited. Arrive early!

Swim at Cala d’Or

Cala d’Or is a famous village famous for its beautiful series of small coves with bright blue water perfect for swimming! Each cove offers something different from more family-friendly ones to more private ones and more.

In addition to swimming, you can explore the charming town of Cala d’Or, with its whitewashed buildings, bustling marina, and numerous shops, bars, and restaurants.

Explore Palma Old Town

Palma Old Town is the historic heart of Mallorca’s capital city. Visiting the old town is one of the best things to do in Mallorca to soak in the island’s rich history and vibrant culture.

💡 Most people stay in Palma because of all the things there is to do here and its close proximity to other attractions on the island. This is the best place to stay in Mallorca without a car!

Walk from Soller to Fornalutx

Going on the mountain walk from Sóller to Fornalutx is one of the top things to do in Mallorca. You can always take the bus or drive from Sóller to Fornalutx to but the walk is a MUCH better option to see and experience Mallorces nature.

The trail leads you through the little streets and mountains until you reach the hilltop village of Fornaltux.

Enjoy an Agriturismo Holiday

An agriturismo hotel stay is the best way to stay in Mallorca. Honestly, I think the ONLY way you should stay in Mallorca is in the countryside – I did this and LOVED it.

Staying at a traditional Mallorcan farmhouse, you’ll be surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, and lush countryside, providing an escape from crowded tourist spots. This type of holiday allows you to enjoy genuine hospitality and learn about Mallorcan traditions and agriculture.

Admire Capdepera Lighthouse

Located ontop of a rugged cliff on Mallorca’s eastern coast you will find the Capdepera Lighthouse. This lighthouse offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding landscapes.

It is a historic sight that was originally built in 1861 and renovated in 1984. Visiting is one of the top things to do in Mallorca.

Walk Around Port de Cala Figuera

Visiting Port de Cala Figuera is one of the top things to do in Mallorca. This charming fishing village is known for its harbor and traditional Mediterranean architecture.

It is one of my favorite places in Mallorca not just because of its beauty but also because of how few tourists are here!

Spend a Day in Pollensa

Pollensa is a beautiful town in the North of Mallorca. Not many people venture to the North of Mallorca but if you have time it is 100% worth the visit.

The Old Town is known for its narrow streets, traditional stone houses, and cultural heritage. It is the perfect place to spend some time exploring, traditional Mallorcan cuisine and more!

Try Local Foods

Exploring the local cuisine is one of the best parts of visiting Mallorca, offering a rich tapestry of flavors influenced by its Mediterranean location and Balearic culture. Here are some must-try local foods:

➡️ Sobrassada
➡️ Ensaïmada
➡️ Paella
➡️ Tumbet
➡️ Frito Mallorquín
➡️ Arroz Brut
➡️ Coca de Trampó
➡️ Local Seafood

For the best experience, visit traditional restaurants, local markets, or bakeries to sample these dishes. Pair your meal with a glass of local wine or the traditional drink, Hierbas.
