Stockholms subway system (also called the ‘tunnelbana’) is said to be the longest art exhibit in the world. There are over 50 stations that are adorned with unique paintings, carvings, sculptures and more! Buying a metro ticket and taking a tour of some of the stations is a must do when you visit Stockholm. It is such a unique experience and results in some really cute photos.
I also really love Stockholms metro system. It was super clean and not busy at all. Right up my alley.
I knew when I went to Stockholm visiting some stations was something I had to do. So I made a list of some of the stations I liked best and off I went. There are some I missed because I got sleepy from riding the metro (sad right?), but there’s always next time. If you’d like to know what else I got up to while in Stockholm check out This Post.
It would be a disservice to not share with you my favourite stations, so here we go.

Best Stockholm Metro Art Tour
1) Station Stadion (Red Line)
This was my very favourite station! I love rainbow colours and it was so amazing to see in person.
2) T-Centralen (Intercepts all lines)
This has such a classic Scandinavian feel and is the first one most people see.
3) Solna Centrum (Red Line)
A pink and green army print that is super different.
4) Tekniska Hogskolan
I was riding to another station when I saw this rainbow escalator and hopped off here! It is super long and not busy so really easy to get a picture if you want.
5) Odenplan
This is a really artsy station filled with lights!
